Acer and Microsoft Sponsor the Wonder League Robotics Competition

Let’s be honest, there are a hundred reasons why teams join our Wonder League Robotics Competition. For some, it’s the chance to practice and acquire new skills such as critical thinking, computational thinking, and what it means to participate in teamwork. It’s about the real-world challenges that their teams get to try and solve, or simply about the pure joy that comes from experiencing that wonder moment when you solve that piece of the puzzle that seemed just out of reach. For others, it’s the chance to test out their coding skills against their peers from around the world.  And for some, well, the chance to compete for a $5,000 STEAM grant is definitely a motivator.

And if that isn’t enough to get you excited about seeing your team’s name in bright lights with a Wonder League Championship title under your belt, then try this on for size … Thanks to the generous support of our friends at Acer and Microsoft, we are excited to announce that the WLRC winners’ pot just got a whole lot sweeter. For those who make it into the final 15 teams, in addition to winning a robot of their choice and an official Final 15 T-shirt, each member and their coach will receive their very own Acer TravelMate Spin Notebook. That is enough gear to make even Dash’s head spin! The Acer TravelMate Spin Notebook is the perfect teammate for both Cue and Dash and the perfect tool for students to take all their creative ideas even further. And don’t forget that the winning team in each of the three age categories (6-8, 9-11, 12-14) also will receive a $5,000 STEM grant grand prize.

In the spirit of the holidays, and because we love our Wonder League Coaches and all that they do, we are going to be giving away one Acer TravelMate Spin Notebook each week for the month of December. That’s right, there are four notebooks up for grabs before the year is done. In order to qualify for the giveaway, it’s simple — you need to register as a Wonder League Coach.
